Response to In-Class Photo Essay

We saw a photo essay regarding Egypt's current state during last discussion. There was a mixture of humorous and serious shots that we look through.

I wanted to share this photo essay that I found, which has to do with Egypt as well.

Here is one photo from the site.

Artist Statement

Is life random? Premeditated?

The things that happen are usually unexpected.

You never know what, who, when or where you'll see something that catches your eye and pique your interest enough to want to share it with others.

How many times has it been said that, "You had to be there" or "If there aren't pictures it didn't happen?"

Photography is so simplistic that a child can do it. Give a camera to the child and they know what they like and the way they capture it is part of their vision, regardless of how primitive that vision is.

Taking photos for me is a great way to remember a whole range of things... I take pictures of my work/class schedule. I use the video option to record voice memos and songs I come across that I need to download in the future.

If I were in the film The Wizard of Oz... I'd be the scarecrow. Functioning to the best of my abilities but without my memory/camera I'm just not my complete self.

This is how I see the world and myself. I like the clever, unusual, and surprising things in life. This is my chance to share it with you.
